After waiting patiently for months, finally I saw the last movie Star Trek (the "11") in film.
, and appears to be coming in November this year, so I have to wait to see her again a reasonable quality ...). Once I had it in my computer, I was able to see it several times with the "sole" purpose of writing this review.
I warn that this post contains spoilers, so if you saw the movie and plan to see it later, DO NOT READ THIS ARTICLE, and which is intended to explain my point of view on it and if need be, open a discussion about it with other Trekkers / Trekkies. Watch the movie first and then talk.
Well, here we go ...
With sincerity I say that I think the film is excellent, compared with current standards of special effects, action and performances, except some minor details. The actors portraying the main characters could not be better selected. The performances are very good and convincing. Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Chekov are for me the best. Scotty had very little involvement, but we can say that was good too, Uhura is not bad (in any "other" side, beyond the obvious ...) and the least caught my attention was Sulu ... maybe the little that appeared on the screen doing something else that was not fighting with a Romulan or forget to turn off the "inertial dampers" (devices that prevent end escraches characters against the backdrop of the ship when they go into warp because acceleration, and in this case, because the outside who were turned on, prevented the ship went into warp with the rest of the fleet) before leaving for Vulcan (error that saved the lives of everyone on the Enterprise, in case you did not realize ...). Kirk is enjoyable to see a classic "almost criminal" that receives many hits as he deserves (yes, give the guy beating after beating during the entire film, from the Starfleet cadets, to the Romulans, without missing some good shots of Spock :-)) and I think his most important skill is the resistance to abuse ... And shots of McCoy!. The character could not be better to Christopher Pine.
Spock, is an excellent ... vulcano. Zachary Quinto hit it with his performance, only the wrong eyebrow a few times when made the classic gesture of "Really?" that Leonard Nimoy earned the title of "actor."
McCoy is the jewel of the film. Too bad you did not get more screen time, but of course, little film to be distributed among many actors and situations ... was difficult.
The others were good (almost disarmed me laugh when Chekov wanted to identify the first time with the computer and say "Wictor, Wictor ...", when in fact, should have said" victor, victor "... what which is clearly a tribute to Chekov's
"Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home"
, who walked the streets of San Francisco asking for the "nuclear
Wessels ":-)), But as I said before, they had little time to be able to demonstrate their acting skills and brilliant performances.
Kirk
See cheating in the famous trial of" Kobayashi Maru "was both interesting and somewhat disappointing. I'm waiting to see the original scene that supposedly comes on the DVD is coming out in November to see if anything improved, but ... was one minor detail.
Ill walked half as loose ... forever. Fairly inept if you will. Nero is a bad good bad and angry, which is just expected, but the followers are still mediocre, even more. shows that draw from a pool of bad that they have in a Instead of Hollywood, and it is that intelligence is sold separately, and expensive ... Only an idiot could have risen to Kirk the edge of that platform with one hand and to have left both hands free to get the gun and kill him ... Vamo above, Romulan! ... I understand you were laburando a mining ship and the captain recruited you as a soldier to run a twisted revenge on Spock, but do not neglect that way only because it underestimates Kirk for being a kid (even knowing that later would become a "pain in the ass ")... A kick in the head and go! Kirk Chau! ...
same with the other Romulan in the hole laser ... stomping on their hands trying to Kirk, while the other hand changed the place ... Did not you have a hung disruptor hip ...? Do not say anything if you had been fighting Luke Skywalker, you would have thrown the hell out of the platform to "force" ... but we talked about
Kirk, a kid who passed it to be beaten and injected with strange side effects ...
(bueh, if the bad had been salted, the movie had done before ... so I better just to remain inept!).
Now, let's get serious and talk about the bulk of the plot ...
For there are people Nero is angry because Vulcan destroyed because they fell in love Spock and Uhura, or because they changed the design of the legendary USS Enterprise .
To all of you, let me remind you that since I started the film and Narada appears (a stylized ship very large, with hundreds of hook-like appendages jagged mountains of purpose or completely unknown but very threatening, and an interior uncomfortable, impractical and not very functional, as it should be a very bad bad ship), destroying the USS Kelvin,
whole future changed irrevocably
, making everything that we saw before (the 10 movies, and 4 of the 5 series) are void. What we saw in the rest of the film is nothing more and nothing less than a
alternate timeline, where things like the design concepts of Starfleet, the "romance" Vulcan and the star map of the sector can (and Indeed, should ) have changed a lot due to the events that took place after the arrival of Nero and his "boys." Point . If you ask me, was a brilliant way to get rid of all the weight of the canon of Star Trek, struggles to recreate all conceptual designs based on "old fashioned" and even the way the characters are ( if is to exaggerate enough). And since we are reviewing, I think it is PERFECT . The truth is as much Trekkie or a movie buff, I did not leave disappointed. The film won every hundredth I paid for the entrance, and when the DVD comes out, I'll buy it and to treasure along with the rest of my favorite movies (including "Galaxy Quest" and my collection of "Star Wars"). I can only say that there is one thing that I found is awful and the dreadful effect of flash that appeared on the screen during certain times, preventing you could clearly see what happens. To give an example, the bridge of the USS Kelvin should have a lighting problem, because if you stood in front of the captain's chair, you could not see his face due to a flash of bluish-white light that was generated or reflected behind it ... The truth is the only thing that I find extremely annoying.
Everything else is just brilliant, and I only hope that the friends of JJ Abrams continue doing business as usual in the upcoming Star Trek XII
.
(I want to tell JJ Abrams and his colleagues that despite his series "Fringe" has a lackluster rating, I follow and I do not want to change anything. Keep going and try and keep in the air. After X-Files, is one of the best series of pseudoscience and supernatural cases has been).
Live long and prosper , Mr. Abrams!
