Tutorial: How to get the white logo of the Glock

For those who have the misfortune of living in Uruguay, and was lucky enough to afford the like to purchase a Glock
, that comes form a logo that has nothing to do with the original brand of the weapon on the right side of the slide, is a kind of insult to both the manufacturer and consumers. It seems that the weapon is a "mark of the importer, Glock model" ...
That narrowed the logo now ... Measures only an inch, but above came with a huge logo clearly visible, one could say that too.

Possibly the importer of the gun you think you can build brand image advantage of the legendary quality of the products of the company by the Austrian engineer Gaston Glock

, painting his own logo. Heard around the guns and come painted from the factory, but that's something I can not confirm and that although there must be some agreement between them, I, consumer, I have little interest in going to show the logo of the importer, because if I have to go some day to Glock for any manipulation, change or arrangement on the gun, they will have to do it my own, without help from the importer ... For any legal matter, is the weapon's serial number stamped on each section that makes it.

Ultimately, I decided to find a way to erase the logo without damaging the finish (actually damage the finish of the slide is pretty hard to do, since the patented external treatment (called " Tenifer ") of the same makes it one of the hardest objects that exist on earth, with a Rockwell hardness rating of "C" level 64, almost diamond), so what I did is basically a simple cleaning with a good thinner ...
Materials:

1) A Glock purchased in Uruguay (and the logo of the importer) :-)

2) A thick fiber cloth.

3) A thin flannel (for final cleaning).

4) Alcohol (not super strictly necessary, but it is good to use).

5) Thinner (I used red label, but probably blue label also serve).
Take precautions, because the thinner is highly toxic.

6) Oil
3 in 1 (yes, the lubricant recognized classic we all know). The procedure is simple:

Before starting, check several times that the pistol is unloaded, and always should be. Store ammunition in a remote place while working.
Then, disassemble the gun following the manufacturer's instructions (see the manual to verify the disarmament of it), and separate the components. We will work only on the slide, so we can remove the other parties.

Then take the slide and wipe the oil near the logo may have to remove the alcohol. If you know Glock, you know you do not need over-oiled, and in fact is especially recommended NO over oiled. Anyway, make sure the slide is free of dirt and lubricants in the area where you work.

Having secured this, take the coarse fiber cloth, wet it slightly with the thinner (you can press your finger on the cloth to emulate a cleaning tool semi-rigid, but be careful because the thinner is toxic and irritates the skin possible), then rub vigorously logo white (actually, it is silver, but looks white) with it. You will see that the paint fades and begins to disappear. Just see this, take another part of that is still clean cloth and repeat until you verify that nothing remains of the paint. Surely the diluted paint will spread over the entire surface where it is acting with the rag, so re-use a clean rag and wipe again with more thinner until all traces of paint away.
Note that while the thinner does not attack the surface of the slide, SI can attack under the gun (the part made from polymer), so try that parte no tome contacto con el thinner ni con el trapo embebido en el mismo.

Well, now that the gun is clean, looks like a real Glock

, not a "silver cat, Glock model" as some out there ... :-)

NOTE: The only change that was made to the photos, as well as trim and narrow to display the site correctly, the application of a blur effect ("blur") on the number of Gun series, for obvious reasons (and a "red line" on the original logo on the slide, in the first picture ...).
Enjoy your Glock!

Gpsphone Pokemon Rom Repo

Now what? ... Having weapons in Uruguay

sorry for so many days have left the blog, but I was busy with some important issues and I could not dwell too much to write.
I will return to the ring soon, with some interesting news (!?)...
For now I only say that I am in very little time to achieve the goal I set myself a relatively short time, to be calmer and less cluttered with problems. It took me time to realize and see the situation objectively, and now he finally
"see" I changed my goals for next year, probably because they finally stopped worrying about things that are less important. That's the thing about epiphanies ... or capable than it was because I tripped me upon leaving the room at three in the morning and told me I was a fool to get in the middle, just as he had to take to the side and let me pass ... What am I to dinner last night? ... I'm (almost) sure that the vegetable dumplings were only "vegetable" and no mushrooms ... the sauce was "4 Cheese", not with
Caruso "cucumelos"
... (Do not ?...).

I was preparing for some huge horrible and imminent global Unfortunately I could not fail to occur during these last two months (and that has nothing to do with the "2012", just in case ...), and almost completed my training (which I continue to maintain the doubt, despite lower my "DEFCON" of "paranoid" to "cautious"), and now I realize I need to take it easy and "avoid" more, rather than "face" so much.
Livin 'la vida loca
for a few days I will come in handy, at least when it ends this year sucks. holiday is coming and this year I want to celebrate "something" ... Whenever I get depressed a little in the holiday year (I have my reasons), but I'm tired of it.

2010, I promise to be better. : wq me @ localhost: ~> mv! $ / Tmp

Finally, it should inform the dollars were purchased at a value of 3.755 equivalent of $ 19,848.50 and an annual rate of 2% was deposited in the National Bank branch Bulnes to first mature on June 22 and renewal automatically.

E) significantly advanced the work of the department of Bolivar Street and the end of this year are minor details. We should mention that we had to hire another person to take the works, as the former bricklayer work did not end despite the insistent request. This responsibility was entrusted to the treasurer Daniel Rojas.

The meeting was attended the following affiliates: owl host New Culture of Santa Fe, Umasdeca, and Tiflonexos UCORCI and observer Library for the Blind BAC Argentina, and Eduardo friendly institutions Larrori Library of Junin, and the Association of Blind De Concepción del Uruguay. On the other hand, had developed an inequitable and unjust situation arising in the liquidation of the commitment to pay membership fees by the Library for the Blind Argentina BAC.

It was fixed as a flat rate for the period 2008-2009 at $ 150 and it was resolved that the Executive Committee to convene a commission of any affiliate involving a meeting to the treatment modality applied in setting the fee, a fact already discussed in the assembly of Cordoba last year.
In the assembly, elected a new leadership which was composed of: President, Carlos Andres Colere, Vice President, Mariano Godachevich, Secretary General, Karina Silvana Sanchez, Treasurer, Daniel Rojas, Minister of Institutional Relations, Gladys Viviana Correa, Secretary Press and Publications, Fernando Galarraga, Department of Rehabilitation and Employment Assistance, Graciela Patricia Palombi, Secretary of Education and promotion of Special Activities, Pablo Lecuona, First Secretary Alternate Walter Alvarez, Second Secretary Alternate susn Cynthia Elena Soledad.
elected President expressed the importance of improving communication channels and institutional representatibidad, pledging to make efforts during his tenure case. Agreed with this position several assembly and concluded on the need to make a hard effort to bring attention to FAIC both internally and externally.

C) On 29 August, after a delay given the health crisis caused by the H1N1 virus, met in Buenos Aires two members of the leadership of FAIC Godachebich and Gladys Mariano Luis Gordillo Correa UCORCI as representative, since in May, in committee meeting Directors resolved to form a commission reforming statutes. It was composed by the deputy secretary of institutional relations, and representatives of UCORCI. In the opportunity to reform outlined the points which will be made for consideration by the member in the consultative meeting held in September 2009.
Regarding membership fees, the board tried to generate the same amount of debate. Was convened at the opportunity to Sanjuanina Blind Association, which however, did not respond to emails sent.

D) With respect to youth group FAIC, was appointed in February 2009 as coordinator Cynthia susn, who had been maintaining an active participation in the group before being elected. Unfortunately in August resigned for personal reasons such coordination, and instead has appointed Andrea Grace, who was entrusted with the armed group and the preparation of a national meeting and the opportunity to try to appoint a committee youth with federal representation. This meeting is anticipated to be held in the city of Córdoba to coincide with the Ordinary.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, since last year young people have maintained a link with SES. This foundation is a youth among its most active policies.
In September last year a group participated in the week for the Rights of Youth, the foundation carries out in Chapadmalal every year.
In October a group of young people participated in a Project Evaluation Program for the foundation. The same assessed projects throughout Latin America. In return the SES paid 600 U.S. dollars which the group donated to the FAIC for use in youth activities.
In May 2009 Ivan Guajardo FAIC representing attended a meeting of the Federal Capital SES.
Importantly, these youth meetings are linked to people and organizations of all topics and is the only group with this disability. It should be noted the support from the Steering Committee provided to these youth initiatives and contact with the Foundation maintains Ses Fernando Galarraga as a link between this entity and FAIC

E) During this period, continued to play in his capacity as volunteer organization, with the same efficiency, Mrs. Naomi Tomé, who worked in support of the Executive Committee in various administrative tasks.

F)

Legislation Advice In October 2008 convened by the Deputy was advised Marco Amenta in Braille labeling of drugs. Following this action in December Pablo Lecuona attended a meeting of the Committee on Trade and Industry Chamber of Deputies, together with laboratories for viable formulas that would allow drugs have signage in Braille.
was agreed to proceed with an agreed proposal for which the law would require the packaging of all medications must be written in Braille trade name and a customer 0800 of the laboratory for the visually impaired person can identify the drug and use of laboratory data, if necessary with respect on the dosage, composition, contraindications, etc.
The intention was to reconcile the interests of people with visual disabilities FAIC represents the different actors, building a law that could be put into actual practice and that would involve an improvement over what we now have.
Finally in March was fine in the House of Representatives and was turned to the Senate for treatment.
was contacted by Senator Saadi bill Guide Dogs, a project that has been approved and at the end of this exercise is to be treated by the full Senate of the Nation.
24,901 Basic Benefits Reform Act: In July we were called by Dep. Morgan and co-REDI to a meeting to discuss the amendment of the Act The purpose of this reform is to accentuate the benefits philosophy to the side of autonomy with social gaze and less institutionalized.

Since then FAIC was actively involved with regard to visual impairment, as to include issues related to closed captioning and audio description, achieving the inclusion in the standard of the proposals made by our Federation. In this regard it should be noted the keynote speaker FAIC secretary of education both in the preparation of proposals for papers which convened and formed a support team and their participation in public hearings of the Chamber of Deputies.
Starting in the new media law includes audio description, it worked with the company to search Films Antarctica Argentina generate media content with audio description. With the company already had previously from the Agora program in relation to subtitling for the deaf and the search for insertion of blind people in the realization of this work.
It A survey by the website and various mailing lists to choose a film to make a first test of audio description.
then formed a team with people interested in the subject to begin testing, based on the suggestions of those who participated in the survey, the production of a sample material that serves to promote the use of audio description in our country.

4 - AREA AGENCY

Public relations agencies:

A.1: Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Children, Youth and Family Ministry
With this continued with the development of an advisory agreement technical expertise relating to the agencies under it, namely: Production Workshops for the Blind, National Editor and Talking Book and Braille Institute for the Blind Roman Rossell. Recall that the SENAF initially contacted and invited professional team AGORA-Argentina Program and through him to FAIC for advice in question.
As of September 11, 2008, held a meeting with the SENAF. FAIC attended by the President at the time, Jorge Tomaino, the Employment Secretary Joseph M. Viera and the Coordinator of Agora, Mariano Godachevich.
As of December 17 a meeting was held with the current president and the technical team of the Secretariat taking the opportunity to sign some necessary tools.
As of May 20, 2009, finally SENAF Clerk, Mr. Paola Vesvecian signed the said Convention.
The same is to diagnostic tasks institutional status of the institutions, optimize and upgrade the services they develop and seek greater federal impact on their actions. FAIC will to effect a task assistance and technical guidance. In consideration of this activity will involve the recruitment of human resources, FAIC receive a sum of $ 127,000 .=, taking a period of one year of extension for a similar term.
In closing date of the current year has not materialized yet to pay that amount.
worth mentioning here that conflicts have arisen in organisms SENAF dependent, such as Editora Nacional Braille and Talking Book as well as the institute Román Rosell. The topic
Editor, in the month of February the 4, noted the removal from office the Director Mr. Rodrigo Cavanella, replacing integrated coordination by two people with sight, little time in publishing performance . FAIC
initially held meetings with staff representatives to discuss the situation. On 26 February, the president, vice president and secretary press met with the Deputy Federal Institutional Strengthening and Integration of Dr. Claudio Franchello SENAF, in order to request explanations. Given the arguments presented by the official representatives of FAIC demanded respect for the historicity in the management of the Editor, so therefore requested to get in front of it a person with visual impairment.
There was a note written on 13 March at the Department of Children Youth and family expressing the position of the board of FAIC
As of April 14 indictment of the Assistant Secretary Dr. Franchello, held a meeting again. On the occasion expressed the need FAIC incorporate a visually impaired person Editora staff coordination, as a political gesture by the Secretariat for the sector and the development of a roadmap aimed at appointing a director with visual impairments. The opportunity
officials present took our indictment and indicated that coordination was a temporary situation, which in any case a large majority of staff had been well received Editor and already were making some improvements in the technical conditions work. It also gave us the modernization project that would carry out.
As for the incorporation of a disabled person visual coordination, we were informed by email on April 24 had been accepted our discretion.
Moreover, on June 18 the president attended a meeting of workers at headquarters that the Editor has Juncal street to lay before them and explain FAIC position on the agreement signed with the SENAF. It is clear that this assembly in the presence of FAIC President had attempted on 8 May and it was not authorized by officials SENAF.
Later on August 23, after numerous phone calls with no results, a note, request an interview with Mr. Paolo Besvecian Secretary. At the same manifest that given the current state of affairs would be extremely traumatic continuity in the implementation of the agreement. Also, we emphasize once again our position on the management by people with visual disabilities in front of the Editor. By email we reported the award of the interview on 10 September.
worth noting that since the Ministry of Press and Broadcasting made a number of mass circulars, stating the position of FAIC and situations that were taking place, because since the driving is aware of the importance that this issue has and the need to consequence of keeping the community informed national Typhlological and international.

A.2) production workshops:
After a couple of workshops with the team in charge of monitoring the Convention by the SENAF, in early August, held a meeting with employees of this organization. In the same was made an initial approach which took note of the status of the workshops, staff were informed about the actions of FAIC under the agreement and sought to delineate a course of action. However at the request of an interview with the head of the SENAF, froze all further action.

B) Ministry of Labour and Social Security:
In November of 2008 and the presence Mr Fernando Iglesias García, Director General of FOAL, there was a meeting with the Secretary of the National Employment, Enrique Deibe, other Secretariat officials linked to the monitoring task of AGORA and crew of this program, being FAIC representatives of Mr. Jorge Tomaino and Mr. Jose Viera. On the occasion in an open meeting discussed the institutional situation of the AGORA-Argentina Programme, working together in recent years and sought new mechanisms will guide a relationship that would complement the activities of public area and FAIC. In this regard it was agreed to develop a new agreement by which the program Agora cease to operate from MTySS which only commit to a financial contribution in training courses and other lines of financing.
José Viera was instructed Secretary of Rehabilitation and Employment of FAIC the negotiation and drafting of the instrument, which was preliminary to the consideration of the authorities of the ministry in December.
After several fruitless meetings was finally signed in early June for a period until December 2010.
In December we discussed various options to locate the offices of AGORA, Argentina, reaching the conclusion that optimize resources and achieve greater visibility FAICO if you got a space in the headquarters of the Federation has by agreement with the OISS Thus meetings were held with the regional center director of the Southern Cone of the agency, Dr. Carlos Garavelli, and obtained the commitment to install technical team using the spaces to FAIC grant a new redistribution that was being organized. It should be noted that while FAIC has offices in April 2008 in the building Sarmiento 1136, its location is temporary until an improvement is made and general works in the building. At year end, these just are affecting the offices assigned to FAIC, and has already been taken on the relocation of those considering a space largest work to take on the same tasks and the Federation's own training program "To Stay in Red" and AGORA.

C) National Advisory Committee for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities of the Nation: From December
began to attend the monthly meetings of the Advisory Committee of this body on behalf of FAIC Vice President Dr. Mariano Godachevich. this being a field of political relations not only with CONADIS authorities but colleagues entities. The participation of our Federation has been very active not only in relation to discussions and proposals but also in the indictment and information gathering which was then shared with industry executives. It should be noted that, as we know, this is an area with no decision making capacity, but which may affect in any way regarding the implementation of policy or action. In this sense, it raised questions about transportation funding bill checking, regulating the employment quota for public employment and establishment of the service provision and maintenance of guide dogs in the framework of the law 24 901, among other
The March 3 Vice President and held a very positive meeting with the President of CONADIS, Ms. Raquel Tiramonti. At the same took advantage to present the principles of the new management and working to find points in common. And possible actions were agreed about the Commission's support for adjustments to the job (in public and private), training for teachers of common schools which are attended by children with visual impairments who are outside of the circuit special schools and general advice from FAIC on specific approaches to existing programs. In the latter case FAIC developed through its Ministry of Education a guidance document in relation to the provision of support under the personal assistance program is funded Check law.
Turning to another aspect, FAIC has taken an important role in the organization of Days of awareness and dissemination of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, convened by CONADIS and Disability Commission H. Chamber of Deputies. It will take place in October and is aimed primarily at government officials related to this subject.
We worked within the commission that aims to generate Support System for Independent Living SAVA.

D) National Rehabilitation:
With the onset of management requested the director of this organization an interview to introduce the new officers, but it was not until April 22 that it was possible (for various scheduling problems) to hold a formal meeting. At the same attended by Vice President and Secretary of rehabilitation and employment assistance. The interview was very positive because there was consensus of those present about the Federation should take an active role in promoting the issue in terms of rehabilitation services and low vision and managed co-financing of training aimed at professionals rehabilitation centers aimed at their increased involvement with the management of employment for our community. Notably, Graciela Palombi had presented this initiative in Rosario in response to the alarming situation of the localities within the country where it is very complex integration of people with visual disabilities in employment. At year-end is working from the Ministry of Rehabilitation with the support of AGORA, Argentina, in designing the course, which was convened at 20 rehabilitation centers and private that operate in our country.

5) Projects and Programs

. Professional and vocational guidance
The Training and Inclusion for People with Disabilities Education Visual AGORA, Argentina entered its fourth year implementation, and based on it should be noted some significant aspects. On the one hand the institutional situation with the Ministry of Labor's Office had to be reformulated, as circumstances demanded it. The national body that has accompanied this initiative since 2001 was restricted from 2007 in-kind contributions, which however were supplied by other partners or the assumption of tasks by the execution unit on all aspects of administrative and accounting. Also in recent years had all been weakened institutional settings for the coordination of joint activities, which could not be sustained longer. So, during his visit on 5 and 6 November made the Director General of FOAL Fernando Iglesias, maintained a high level meeting attended by FAIC authorities and the Ministry of Employment, which referred more above. In the same were laid the foundations for a future relationship between our Federation and the Ministry.
But it was not until July 2009 that were signed the relevant conventions, and during those eight months the institutional circumstances that made only AGORA, Argentina will work with the coordinator's work and labor and financial manager. Moreover, the impending move, successively postponed by delays in implementing works of OISS also played a role that did not help the task, added this to the crisis in employment originated in the country. During the year were 22 labor inclusions and conducted 29 training courses involving 149 people. The inclusions were generally in companies that already had contacts and further reallocations occurred in 4 kiosks in the province of Buenos Aires.
In the area of training, the most important is that the action was coordinated with the Social Network project, which also runs from the Federation for computer courses. We performed a training course for employment in Mar del Plata, and along with UMASDECA the Seclen, the English continued to be supported by the Roman Institute Rosell and began an Introduction to Programming funded by the company Accenture.
also in terms of labor market area, it continues to work closely with the SECLA (preferably in monitoring of kiosks) HR consultants Adecco, Manpower and Sesa Select, which now joined Attica, but deficit was noted by the lack of technical staff responsible for monitoring, owing to delays in recruitment by the MTE and SS of human resources, an issue that even at the end of the year is pending. The emphasis in this exercise was to put it the basis for sustainability, by reformulating the relationship with the national Ministry of Labour, deepening the work with other public and private actors and try to be adding others to the task. At this point at year end are working on designing a workshop has been invited to the 20 blind rehabilitation centers across the country, an initiative of the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Employment of FAIC also presented a project an internal competition Konecta English Foundation for the implementation of specific action to the area of contact centers, which represents corporate awareness activities, identifying training and employment new areas of employment.

. Social Network Project.
order to give continuity to the activities undertaken with the Social Network project in 2007, in July 2008 was presented to COPINE project called "To Stay in Red." Social Network
had enabled us to purchase equipment and provide computer training services to people with visual disabilities at our headquarters, besides being part of different services that the project made available to its members as a learning platform and a digital library, including others.
The end of this project gave us the challenge of obtaining financing for continuing to benefit started.
In this way, it got continuity COPINE Project financed by a grant of $ 20,000 .= (Twenty thousand pesos) to run training courses, publications and upgrade and buy equipment.
The funds, has joined the Federation in January 2009, allowed update computers already have, buy supplies, general operating fees paid by a general coordinator and two trainers, among other alternatives.
was very important in this joint work with the AGORA program for the detection of beneficiaries and other aspects related to project execution, depending on resources and does not overlap add efforts.
At the end of the run remained 40 percent of funds received under a greater extent the purchase of inputs and producing publications of interest to the work of the Federation.

. Unified Catalogue of Braille Books
In order to generate a better access to Braille literature in the country and also to avoid as far as possible and advisable to duplication of material in this format is that it began putting together a project consisting of a database or catalog to be located on the web so that information can be used in a massive and fast and economical by the set of peers. We are also in search of allies and partners to design the necessary software.

Oh what a shame! ... I am the alarm on my family, whenever there is an emergency I will run as crazy looking to save my life, I think I have a paranoia or something. When an earthquake happens, I run to open the door of the apartment, I heard somewhere that must be opened to prevent the dam.
My sisters are not, they are meditating thinking of a solution and I always end up complaining about my hysterics ... you should probably learn from them ... is trying to do since the incident of burning of the chips, so I do not look as ugly as ever: P

My father was a fan of guns. Came to have staged two .22 caliber rifles, two shotguns, one 16 and one 12, two revolvers and a .38 caliber automatic pistol Astra, caliber 7.65. Besides that, we had an air rifle caliber 4.5, which we used to practice shooting (played to break toothpicks to 10-15 meters) without attracting the curiosity of neighbors and law enforcement.
At home I have long arms too, because I like the practical shooting and also think it is good to defend my home in case of external aggression. I have little time to go to practice, but I hope to do more often. I use revolvers, semiautomatic pistols, carbines, rifles and rifles, in calibers from .22 to 9mm cartridges from shotguns also 16 and 12 (whose name derives not from the barrel diameter, but the number of bullets that can be done with a slug of lead from a British pound, and therefore a larger number does not mean that is greater), so I have some experience, although I'm not a very good shooter. Practice makes perfect, and in my case, have not practiced enough, so I'm an amateur (albeit with a 9mm pistol I can give a beer to 10 meters with a .22, I can give a melon at 50 meters, which is above average.)

Unfortunately, I overcame that (certificate of competency for the Acquisition and Possession of Firearms), which forced me to dive back into the bureaucratic maze tends to discourage potential buyers of weapons to desist from their efforts. I have nothing against the psychological evaluation, or against weapons handling course (which thankfully do not require on renewals), or against the training on legal issues arising from the use of the weapons themselves, but against the arbitrariness of the requirements at headquarters. Depends on where you live and how they see you face is what you are asked, which is an appalling lack of respect and regrettable. Even worse, do not give information by phone ... so you have to necessarily go to waste time, instead of being able to carry the necessary papers as you request them and end the process without letting blood and sweat on the road.
Ultimately, as we must comply with the law, take all the necessary paperwork, and I do not think losing the right to have my arms, you have more difficulties in this regard. I recognize that know how to shoot is an ability not common, everyday use (unless you are police or military), but no longer is fun, well let me explore ways to channel my negative emotions into something positive: the development of precision, patience and self-control without the security that gives me the know how to handle weapons, something that many may sound contradictory, but in practice is not.

Officials say the problem of having guns at home is that few people know manipulated properly, so they often result in accidents. There is also talk that the theft to a house where weapons are stored as a result ends up leaving the weapons in the hands of criminals, who in turn use them for criminal or at least trade with them on the black market, sending weapons and ammunition to where they should go. Also spoke about the suicide rate, though I disagree about it, given that suicide is an issue that goes beyond the mere possession of a weapon, but it is only another of the many tools you can use the suicide to end his life, but not the only, and the fact of possessing or not is not important in itself, but rather self-destructive suicidal motivation.

always tends to be linking arms with the crime or the ill-gotten, which also seems unfair. Having a gun is a responsibility, and is mandatory for those who own the knowledge to use and manipulate it properly, so if you ask me, I support

responsible ownership of firearms. There can be no excuses about it, and so I look very good THATA requirements associated with the psychophysical and training. I do not agree with the slogan
"You have a gun you have a problem "
, fostered by the interior ministry. The problem is to have it
AND HANDLING NOT KNOW OR KEEP IT SAFE
. No one says anything about the silverware drawer where knives rest of respectable size, often within the reach of children or drivers who go "loose" in the streets (sometimes without book) and that accidents occur at a rate much higher than those producing the weapons, or many other things that are equally or more dangerous than guns , in spite of what is said.

And when I say, "know how to use" I'm not referring only to "learn to target something and press the trigger," but rather to know ALL the details of the weapon, conditions performance, characteristics, details of munitions used, exit velocity, effective range, etc.. Many are content to say that they can use the weapon because they know point and shoot, which is simply inadequate. Knowing what the proper handling of the weapon is so fundamental and important as the ability to shoot, so do not be content to know what caliber shooting and where the trigger. accidents This sometimes occurs in situations and environments where it seems impossible that happen, and where one realizes that those who manage daily weapons often do not know even the basics to be able to do so safely. There is a story that has as much mented a law enforcement officer accidentally shot a friend in a branch since unaware of the functioning of semi-automatic weapon he was carrying. Presumably, wished him a "joke", which consisted of pointing with the gun, saying "Look I'll kill you!", Eject the magazine and pull the trigger ... This was wrong when he realized that the weapon was detonated the cartridge in the chamber, and that the gun fired without the magazine inserted yet (many semiautomatic pistols do not fire the cartridge from the magazine without the magazine inserted, as a simple method of security). As a nearby example of the ignorance of some public officials, recall a conversation I had with a neighbor, the Metropolitan police officer, which looking at a .22 bullet I showed him, he asked me very seriously "And this is like shooting, if not explosive?" (for those who do not know, the .22 caliber cartridge the primer is in a ring at the back inside the shorts, so to detonate only needs to strike a blow at the edge of the shorts. This difference in the cartridge does belong to the category of cartridges "rimfire" in contrast to other cartridges where the explosive is in a special chamber in the center of shorts, called cartridges "central fire"). This basically means that even in the ranks of law enforcement there are people who handle guns without knowing enough about them to do it safely, or at least ignoring the basic principles of operation. accidents with firearms then they are the result of incompetence and irresponsibility of those involved. All weapons are manufactured in the world come with an instruction manual simple and concise, which also contains the information necessary to operate the weapon, a series of very basic and generic rules, that if you follow them without exception, can not be no mistake about it. The handling of weapons must be performed by a qualified person (often includes a driving course weapons in that), not by a child who was found, badly hidden by a father who did not even mention having it, or the above rules to your family.

Unfortunately, the issue is very mythical weapons and is practically a taboo in some families, which simply ends up producing the opposite effect. If there are children and guns in the house, do not hide in fear, but address the issue openly and without unduly alarming the children. Everyone has seen on television as are weapons, and recognized from childhood, but are unaware of the true effect of using them in real life. What you need to do is explain that this is not a toy nor is a bad thing, but a tool, there are dangers if improperly handled, like a drill, a grinder or a saw, and therefore can only be manipulated by adults who know and understand the subject, but nothing much more complicated than that. They see police on the street and know that the guns are tools, and will not see as wrong, but as what they really are. If possible, take the child to attend one or more actual shooting (in a controlled and safe) made against a static and sensitive to the size used, to see that while the weapon is similar to that seen in the television, the effect is both sound and destructive different in real life, and that is something there to give her much respect, not foolish and unfounded fear. Most of the children to hear a shot close and see the effect of a weapon in any medium, will be clear that this is not a toy, and avoid close on its own conviction. I think in this case, you want to know and understand, instead of hiding the facts or lying.

With regard to weapons in the hands of criminals, well ... armories supposedly do not sell ammunition to people who do not have the THATA, so a weapon in the hands of an offender may become useless if it can not acquire the necessary ammunition to use and how did you get the ammunition into the hands of criminals? Well, theft from private homes, thefts from armories, the indiscriminate sale by vendors with more profit than awareness and respect for the law, and smuggling are the main sources of illegal ammunition. The price of the same does not seem to be a problem (for an idea, a bullet 9mm reloaded worth about $ 7 and a new, about $ 20, depending on the brand and type), so that side is not much arrangement. I think is also an issue rather ridiculous restriction in ammunition calibers. One can, if you want, buy a .357 magnum revolver at any armory, but as that caliber ammunition is restricted, you may only use .38 bullets with this gun (if it is almost the same size so you can throw .38 in a .357 magnum, but not vice versa), or otherwise, only hang on the wall to show it to friends ... actual use of the weapon is simply restricted by law. What is the idea of allowing gauge then purchase restricted weapons if you can not buy ammunition for them? The "collectors" Perhaps know ... but I honestly do not understand.

On the other hand, some time ago was released for civilian use 9mm (do not know if all the variants, since I have not seen the + P + out there for sale and have not ascertained if import restrictions such ammunition), whose characteristics in terms of ballistics and power are more appropriate for a war that for civilian use, and yet anyone with THATA a day can buy a gun and 9mm ammunition without major problems, so I do not see much difference in the .357 Magnum counterpart (well, as "having" the difference is ... the 9mm has output speeds of around 370 m / s, and the .357 Magnum is about 440 m / s. .. and other projectiles weigh too ... with advantage to the .357).

Anyway, the thing is that the arms issue is mismanaged, but it started badly for the beginning. Too much freedom for the acquisition of small caliber (as lethal to the largest) and restrictions without regard for higher rating (at least for those considered "non-military"). Now he strikes up civilians through bureaucratic procedures, but the most determined as purchased (acquired) weapons anyway. And do not say that the unarmed citizen, there is less crime on the streets. There has already been very clear examples in which disarmament has been promoted on civilians, which resulted in an increase brutal crime, as armed criminals are less likely to face a weapon in the hands of his victim if they know that to civil attacking and comply with the law have no opportunity to defend themselves with firearms (there was a relevant example in Morton Grove, Illinois on 81, which prohibited the possession of firearms to civilians and as a result, increased the number of thefts, which occurred also in England (a 115% increase in violent crime), Australia and Canada), so let's make sure we do not lie about safety on the streets to support the senselessly citizen disarmament.

Ultimately, this is a hot topic for which there is no good solution, so we have to accept it. If you ask me (and if you have not made it clear in what they have read so far), I say that's not bad to have firearms at home, but evil is ignorance associated with them.

Machiavelli said that "it is unreasonable to expect that an unarmed man should remain safe and secure when his servants are armed, and while many would sound very bad, I think he had every reason in the world. The Constitution gives us the right to protect our home from any threat, so let us not admedrentar by bureaucratic obstacles and if we are honest citizens exercising our right. I'd rather have a weapon and not need it, they want and not have it.
"If vis pacem, para bellum" (If you want peace, prepare for war)

Now, to finish this lengthy article, I leave you with basic advice on handling firearms and ammunition, I think that any holder of weapons must know and follow:

1) The weapons must always be treated as if were loaded, no exceptions.

2) The first thing to do when taking a weapon to manipulate it, is to confirm that it is unloaded, especially when taking weapons that are not yours or the unfamiliar.
3) Never point a gun at anything you do not intend to destroy, even in jest.

4) While you do not intend to shoot, keep your fingers off the trigger.

5) If you intend to shoot, check your environment before and a position close to the target. If you have any kind of doubt on the possibility of reaching your target, do not shoot. A bullet from a handgun has a minimum effective range of 100 meters and a small caliber rifle, more than 1500 m.

6) Never leave a loaded gun alone.

7) The firearm safety system is no substitute for common sense. Even certain weapons may fail. Do not assume that all weapons are safe. Most semiautomatic handguns and many weapons (I quote the standard Glock as a clear example) do not have security systems that prevent firing in normal conditions.

8) Learn and know all the details of their weapons. Know where fire conditions and conditions that are not, and never run tests that violate the manufacturer's specifications. All weapons are different, so their ability to use a variant does not apt to use other weapons.

9) Act responsibly. Never mix guns and alcohol or drugs. Do not use your weapon for festivals, or shoot into the air. If you shoot, always do so to a safe area, free of animals, persons or property that has no intent to harm.

10) When you use your gun, check the barrel of it is free of obstructions or debris. Never check this by pointing the gun at you. In the case of revolvers, you can see turning the drum through the canyon from the side back in the automatic, almost always you can check back the slide and seeing the room with light in front of the barrel, and For long-barreled weapons, where you can not watch the full length of the barrel, use a mirror or proper tools to do so.

11) Always make sure the ammunition to be used is the appropriate size for your firearm. While there are munitions that can be interchangeable, and inserted into different caliber weapons, all weapons not handle the pressure of the blast and at least you can damage your weapon, or injured or dead.

12) If you use a gun, and locked ("optics swing"), remove the charger, then open the slide and make sure there is a missile or a blockage in the chamber and the barrel, all while pointing the weapon to a safe area. If you fired, but there was no firing, keep the gun pointed in a safe area and wait about 20 or 30 seconds before attempting to remove the bullet that failed to detonate. If something unexpected or unusual with the gun, immediately stop shooting, unload the weapon and inspect it before moving forward.

13) Keep your weapon clean and in good condition. A dirty or neglected weapon may fail, sometimes with fatal consequences. This is true even for weapons with high tolerance to dirt and abuse, such as Glock and Jericho.

14) If you see someone improperly handling a firearm, call the attention of others around them and warn of the danger, besides trying to explain to the person what you are doing is wrong and why. Security is better when we care for all.

15) If you practice shooting, make sure you have the necessary protective equipment. At a minimum, use a pair of lenses impact resistant and appropriate hearing protection. The best lens for shooting practice are those that meet ANSI Z87.1 specifications

, OSHA

and MIL-V-43511C
. ESS (Eye Safety Systems) is the only manufacturer of lenses for shooting practice that meet all specifications.

16) If you transport the weapon must be unloaded and in a suitable container. 17) If you play in a polygon, follow the instructions of the staff of the same, and listen to the cease-fire orders. Never let anyone Pedana accompanies the shooting. Guests must stay a safe distance until you or the managers will say it is safe to approach. 18) If you have guns in your home and have children or younger charge, educate them so they know without a doubt what it is and that only the older must manipulate. Bail out every possible question without lying at all, that way you avoid wanting to discover things for themselves. If possible, show the effect of the weapon. A picture is worth a thousand words and in this case, there is no better deterrent than a look at reality. 19) If you service the gun, make sure it is unloaded and keep out of ammunition. To clean the weapon is not necessary that the ammunition is nearby. Do not leave the weapon while unaccompanied.

20) Do not modify your gun. Besides being illegal, is dangerous if you do not know what does. If you need to install any accessory, go to a registered dealer. They have the necessary tools and know the mechanisms of weapons enough to advise on options available in terms of modifications, including may also inform you about the legality of the amendment.

21) Do not recharge properly trained ordnance first. An error in the type of powder, or load of ammunition may result in a fatal accident. If you try to reload ammunition, be sure to follow safety guidelines that manufacturers to use Elemeno defined.

22) Do not handle live ammunition (loaded) inappropriately. Do not attempt to download or off ammo if you do not know how. Do not attempt to detonate the pistol caps, because even without all the powder charge required to fire the projectile, have enough power to hurt those who handle them. Keep firearms and ammunition away from items that can catch fire or produce heat.

23) If you are traveling or away for a long time, take their weapons and ammunition in a secure store, where they remain locked up and monitoring, and so prevent a disaster if (stolen property) their weapons end up in wrong hands.

24) If you have questions about their arms, consult an expert who knows and can explain clearly, dispelling doubts. Nobody is born knowing everything, and it is very important to clear all the details instead of incorrectly assuming cases and situations without being sure.

Well, I think this is (almost) everything. Sure I missed something, but take into consideration that I'm only an amateur.

Enjoy your shooting! :-)

Buenos Aires, September 16, 2009

A member organizations and friends.

The FAIC want to report the results of the meeting and passed
Thursday 10 with the Secretary of Children, Youth and Family, Ms. Marcela Paola Vessvessián
in relation to the National Editor
Braille and Talking Book.

The meeting, which also participated the Deputy
Federal Institutional Strengthening and Development, Mr. Claudio Franchello,
lasted over two hours and allowed to in a frank,
both parties raise their positions on this issue.

SENAF The authorities informed us that Prof. Ferraú Marta, who
was designated in 2006 workshops coordinator graphics,
be named as soon as the technical coordinator of the Area of Accessibility
to Reading and Writing Braille and audio speaker, which was created by resolution of the SENAF
earlier this year.

In this regard, FAIC stated that the new coordinator should take a leading role
on the technical aspects of management, with features well defined and established
as himself in the decision-making in general and the relationship
with other state agencies and organizations
Typhlological.

On the other hand, also addressed the situation of moving the Editor
its present location on the street Juncal, coinciding FAIC and
SENAF in the new site should be accessible and to ensure conditions for the
proper functioning of the entity . The officials stressed that the
Secretariat is seeking a property in the City of Buenos Aires
with these features to reunite the Editor in a single site,
but still there is no such place.

Finally, we agreed to work together to assemble a roadmap
enable the appointment of a director with visual disabilities
suitability as head of the National Braille Publishing and Talking Book.
on the subject, Ms. Paola Vessvessián said it was in its management
was terminated by the body, and placed in the direction
a blind person, which was highlighted by the Federation since this
policy is consistent with the principles of the International Convention
United Nations Human Rights.

FAIC, meanwhile, offered to collaborate in preparing concrete
staff and others who aspire to this position in his
time.

The Federation, which since early this year took with ownership and decision
efforts to claim the re-institutionalization of the National Braille Publishing and book
Speaker, as a gesture appreciated the appointment of Prof.
Ferraú and claimed its historical position to
driving this body is occupied by a person
visually impaired with training and expertise.

It reaffirms its willingness to work in a coordinated way with
different actors involved in this issue, so as to reach the largest possible consensus
to improve the situation of the institution in
benefit of all users with disabilities visual and community in general
